What is Endometriosis?
Endometriosis is a condition where the tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus (endometrium) starts growing outside the uterus, often affecting the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and the pelvic lining. This displaced tissue thickens, breaks down, and bleeds during each menstrual cycle, but unlike regular menstrual blood, it has no way to exit the body, causing inflammation, scarring, and in some cases, fertility issues. It is a chronic, often painful condition, but it can be managed with proper medical care.

Ultrasound: We use both abdominal and transvaginal ultrasounds to get a clear view of the reproductive organs, aiding in the identification of cysts or other signs of endometriosis.
MRI: For a more detailed view, MRI scans provide high-resolution images of the organs and tissues, allowing us to locate and assess the size of endometrial implants with precision.
Laparoscopy: In cases where a more in-depth view is needed, our expert surgeons may perform a laparoscopy. This minimally invasive procedure involves inserting a small tube with a camera through a small incision in the abdomen, allowing us to visually inspect for endometrial tissue and, if necessary, remove cysts, implants, and scar tissue.
